Scabiosa atropurpurea x caucasica Magic (‘Pmoore02) was selected in 2009 by Peter Moore, independent plant breeder in the UK and will be taken into production in several countries in 2012 and next year(s). Its sterile ‘magic’ flowers are in an early stage light green, later light pink. The flowering period is very long, from early summer till begin frost. Hardiness zone 5. The growing habit is spreading; height about 50 cm. This scabiosa can be used in garden, patios, and on terraces.
In 2009, Moore also selected the very winterhardy (Pmoore01) with crème flowers. Royalty management agency for Europe, Plantipp in IJsselstein, Netherlands will introduce both Scabiosas on Plantarium 2012, the international trade fair for hardy nursery stock in The Netherlands (August 22-25).
