UK-based Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants presents at the Chelsea Flower Show 2018 in London (May 22-26) two new perennials. About Gaillardia ‘Apricot Honey’ Rosy Hardy says that she has been evaluating and propagating this perennial for over two years at the nursery. “As its name suggests, this 70cm high Gaillardia produces large, soft apricot flowers throughout the summer. Its elegant, free form and gently arching habit make it ideal for the middle of a warm sunny border or in a large container.”

While Gaillardia ‘Apricot Honey’ derives from Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants’ own breeding, Polemonium yezoense ‘Kaleidoscope’ is bred by Dunmore Perennials. “This striking plant is sure to attract attention from visitors to Chelsea with its variegated leaf and rich blue flowers. In colder conditions, the pink edge variegation becomes even more pronounced.
It grows to about 60cm.“ ‘Kaleidoscope’ should make a good compact plant for the front of a sunny or partially shaded border, or in a container.
