Dutch based breeding company Terra Nigra adds four new mini-gerbera varieties to its Germini assortment. Germini Terra Plymouth has a bright orange single flower with green center. It is according to the company an excellent producer and has a robust crop. Germini Terra Tune has a light lemon colored, semi double flower with a dark center. “It has a good size diameter and the combination of the dark center and lighter color make it very attractive”, states Christa Boerlage, General Manager Terra Nigra, Inc.
Germini Terra Topaas is a glossy red variety with a dark center. The flower is elegant and tops of the long stems. Germini Terra Chianti is described as a super quality semi-double Germini variety with a striking yellow color which turns darker yellow around the center.
Germini history
The introduction of the four new Germinis is for Terra Nigra a reason to recall the history of this mini-gerbera series. The company introduced as the original inventor of this productline the fist Germini varieties in 1990. In 1991, it won the Holland Award for the development and introduction of this spectacular product. More than 22 years later, Terra Nigra carries around 75 commercial Germinis.
