Hydrangea macrophylla ‘H20-2’, trade name Miss Saori is bred by Japanese breeder Irie San. It is a full mophead hydrangea with red purple double flowers with white edge. It belongs to the generation of hydragneas that flower on first year wood. It is also reblooming. According to Plantipp, the agency responsible for the introduction and distribution on the European market, Miss Saori has a good rooting system, is well branching and winter hardy to -22˚ C. It will reach a height and a width of 1 m.
Dutch hortensia specialist Van Klaveren Plant will enter the plant into the new plant competition of Plantarium 2014. This trade fair for hardy nursery stock will be held August 27-30 in Netherlands.
Miss Saori as a cut flower is already on the market. Sonneveld Hydrangea supplies the new variety from June to September. The nursery has been active in the cultivation of cut hydrangea since 1999.
