Ginkgo biloba ‘Brivingtetun’ is a new variety of Ginkgo with very large, fan shaped leaves. These leaves are about 1.5 times the size of classic Ginkgo biloba. André Briant Jeunes Plants submits Ginkgo biloba ‘Brivingtetun’ to the Innovert competition of the trade fair Salon du Végétal which will be held next week (June 20-22) in Nantes, France.
‘Brivingtetun’ has upright branches and a column shaped habit. The growth habit is looser than ‘Menhir’ but straighter than ‘Blagon’. French nursery André Briant Jeunes Plants also emphasizes that the branches of ‘Brivingtetun’ (Ø 6-8 mm) are stronger than normally found (Ø 4-6 mm). Last but not least also this Ginkgo has beautiful colours in autumn.
This month ‘Brivingtetun’ will be released in France. The supply of André Briant will be in the season 2017/2018 limited to about 1,000 plants this year and 2,500 plants next year. However, ‘Brivingtetun’ is already brought onto the market in Great Britain, Hungary and Poland.
