Leo van der Vlugt of nursery Van der Vlugt from Hillegom (Netherlands) retires. The Fubuki-series which was developed at his company is transferred to Peter van Schie of Dahlia Nursery Van Schie from Lisse (Netherlands). Peter van Schie is pleased with the acquisition of the Fubuki-dahlias. In the leading Dutch trade magazine Bloembollenvisie he says: “It is a unique series that Leo van der Vlugt has built up over the years. It involves eight different cultivars with as many colours. These medium tall dahlias belong to the Frimbiata group and are distinguished by the split petals. The flower diameter is always about 13cm.”
The first Fubuki-supply from Van Schie can be expected next year.
His son Frank van der Vlugt continues with the other dahlias from nursery Van der Vlugt, like ‘Eternal Snow’ and the Butterfly series ‘Happy Halloween’ and ‘Tottaly Tangerine’.
