The winner of the Glazen Tulp 2014 in the category of cut flowers is Bondeni Flowers/Marginpar from Uitgeest (Netherlands). Their Clematis diversifolia Star River won the first prize. “A fantastically innovative product that is feminine and fits the current trends. Clematis Diversifolia Star River has the character of a garden plant that fits the Zeitgeist. The jury offers its compliments for cultivating Star River as a cut flower. It is a true innovation in this area.”

Clematis diversifolia Star River is bred by Wim Snoeijer from Dutch clematis specialist J. van Zoest [see also news post from December 13, 2013]. Dutch based royalty manager Plantipp states in a special press release that this agency brought ‘plants, people & ideas together’. “Teamwork brought the Glazen Tulp 2014 Award home”, claims Peter van Rijssen of Plantipp.
