Cauliflower as an ornamental edible

Breeder Ard Ammerlaan of Prudac, Enkhuizen, Netherlands showed at the Flower Trials 2012 (June 12-15) some trays with young cauliflower plants. On each plant there were between five to seven small cauliflowers. “So the consumer can harvest five to seven times from one plant”, he emphasized.
This new variety derives from a Korean breeding cauliflower program. Ammerlaan did the selection. The variety certainly does not live up to the yield expectations of professional veggie growers, but fits according to him perfectly into the trend of ornamental edibles. He got at least a lot of attention for this product during the Flower Trials.
