Blue Heaven is a new dwarf Buddleja of the ‘Flutterby Petite’ series of sterile hybrid cultivars raised by Peter Podaras whilst at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, and patented as ‘Podaras’ in 2011. Blue Heaven is the result of a crossing of B. alternifolia × B. davidii. Blue Heaven makes a small shrub with an upright and spreading habit, growing to 0.8 × 0.8 m, with terminal and axillary conical panicles, < 5.5 cm long by 3.3 cm wide, comprising around 72 faintly fragrant violet-blue flowers which emerge in spring and persist until the first frosts of the fall. The opposite, elliptical leaves are about 3.7 cm long by 1.7 cm wide, lanulose above, tomentose below. The shrub is reputedly hardy to - 29° C. Blue Heaven was introduced to Europe in 2012 by Plantipp, Netherlands.
